Just My Luck
I have a crush.This guy is in three or four of my classes this semester, so I see him every day. I noticed him in American lit last semester but didn’t think about him much. I saw that he wasn’t unfortunate looking, but that class was my first of the day, meaning that I was never fully aware of my surroundings.
In any case, when I left my class this afternoon, I decided to learn more about him in typical college student fashion: I stalked him on facebook. There I discovered that he’s an RA*, taking a huge course load this semester, he likes Tolkien. Then I noticed his About Me section had only three words: “I’m in love.”
Excuse me?
I scrolled up to look at his relationship status—wondering why it wasn’t the first thing I had looked at—and discovered a fun new piece of information.
He’s engaged.
Figures.
*While I once would have thought this was a deal-breaker, I've known enough of them to know that many of them aren't the sticklers they pretend to be. Bradshaw was an RA and I got drunk in her room one night. A couple of the guys secretly dated residents, and just about everyone breaks curfew rules.

Lol, Nic, that has happened with me once. He wasn't engaged though. It somehow seems to funny to think that you have a crush on some guy and it eventually turns out that he already has a girlfriend and or is engaged. This guy, he wasn't your first crush, was he?
By the way, I still didn't get what RA is...
An RA is a resident assistant, which means they live in the dorms and are in charge of one floor or wing or whatever. They're who you go to when you have problems with roommates or just need someone to chat with. They are also rule-enforcers. :)
And no, he's definitely not my first crush. The first of the semester though....
